General Overview

The Development Office assists parishes and related charities of the Archdiocese of Toronto with their development programs. Our efforts support:

• Any Parish (offertory, renovation fund, capital campaign, special project)
• ShareLife (Parish, Corporate, Community and Employee campaigns)
• Shepherds’ Trust
• St. Augustine ’s Seminary
• St. Michael’s Choir School
• Any other Archdiocesan organization (vocations, youth, education, there are over two dozen funds)

Materials, advice and staff assistance are available for the following programs.

Personal Giving

• Gifts via credit card
• Securities (stocks, mutual funds, bonds, GICs)
• Life Insurance
• Registered Retirement Funds (RRSPs, RRIFs)
• Gifts from a business
• In-kind personal property (coin collections, art, old cars, real estate, air miles)
• Private “Donor Advised Funds” (usually administrated by bank or investment firm)

Planned Giving

• Bequests in a Will
• Estate Gift enquiries

Corporate Giving

• ShareLife Corporate Campaign
• ShareLife Community (employee giving) Campaign
• Employee or Corporate gifts to a parish or Catholic charity

Pre-authorized and Sacrificial Giving Programs

• Assistance for parish communities to enhance Sunday offertory collections

Capital Campaigns

• Assist parishes with the strategy and implementation of campaigns for new construction, additions, or renovations to church buildings

Tribute Gifts

• Assistance for groups or individuals making a gift to honour, remember or recognize someone with a charitable gift to a parish or charity

Papal Blessings

• Assists with the procurement of a Papal Blessing in honour of lifetime milestones
