How often has someone told you that you excel at something? "I wish I could communicate as well as you do" or "You are so artistic! That’s such a gift." They’re right. Our many talents are just that – a gift from God. It’s up to us to decide how we use those gifts, whether we keep it hidden underneath a bushel or use our gifts to plant seeds that will continue to sprout up and strengthen our community.
Good stewardship means that we share our gifts and talents. A good writer could help with the parish bulletin, a musician could work with the choir and a young child could help an even younger sibling learn to tie a shoe. The opportunities are unlimited when we begin to examine how we can share our gifts with others.
Once again, we need to remember that making time to share our gifts is an important part of living a life of good stewardship. Take time occasionally to reflect on how our talents, when shared, can change lives forever.
