A STATEMENT FROM MOST REVEREND RICHARD GRECCO

AUXILIARY BISHOP OF TORONTO

It is with great joy that we welcome His Holiness Benedict XVI as our new Holy Father.

The Lord has called him to this great responsibility.  He builds upon the work of two millennia of Popes before him.  He follows the beloved Pope John Paul II. 

With the grace of God, and with the loving support of Catholics from among all the peoples around the world, he will be Shepherd and Father, Servant of the Servants of God. 

We look forward to working together with all people of good will in solidarity with our Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI.
