Catholic School Looking for a Large Crucifix
The staff of Holy Family Catholic School in Beaverton is looking to enhance the entrance foyer of the school with a crucifix. There is a cross built into the wall opposite the main door of the school which is made of brick, however, the community would like either a crucifix or the corpus to be placed over the brick cross. It would need to be 3-4 feet in length.

In the Path of Abraham: A Jewish, Christian, Muslim Experience of the Holy Land
September 4-10, 2011
This unique pilgrimage is schedule to take place September 4-10, 2011. Rabbi Frydman Kole, Imam Abdul Hai Patel and Fr. Damian MacPherson, S.A., will accompany the pilgrims as they get to experience a first-hand observation of what the state of affairs is with these three monotheistic religions who occupy the Holy Land. The hope is to have thirty participants from each religion represented, space therefore is limited.

“Totus Tuus” Gala Concert

Canada’s main event for the beatification of John Paul II: Catholic Youth Studio invites you to the “Totus Tuus “ gala concert in honour of Blessed John Paul II and Saint Eugene de Mazenod. The gala concert will celebrate the much awaited beatification of John Paul II. We will also commemorate the 150th anniversary of death of Saint Eugene de Mazenod – the founder of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate. The Missionary Oblates have continued to play a major role in Canada’s Catholic Church.
In the first half of the concert we will be entertained by light classical and popular hits performed by Jan Lisiecki, Kinga Mitrowska, Christopher Dallo, Kornel Wolak and Quartetto Gelato. In the second half of the concert we will reflect on the deep themes presented by the “Divine Mercy Oratorio” performed by Zbigniew Malkowicz, Marek Balata, and other soloists from Poland. English translations will be shown on screens. The Toronto Silver Symphony Orchestra and choir will be directed by Michael Newnham.

Dr. Josephine Lombardi will lead us through the beautiful insight of each petition of the Lord’s Prayer as we relate its wisdom to our own lives. Dr. Lombardi is the author of “On Earth as it is in Heaven” published by Novalis and features on CTS and Salt and Light TV. She is Assistant Professor of Systematic and Pastoral Theology at St. Augustine’s Seminary.
