Pilgrimage of the
Ark of the New Covenant
through the Archdiocese of Toronto
March 23 to 29, 2008

Follow the pilgrimage of the
Ark of the New Covenant online

In preparation for the 49 th International Eucharistic Congress, the Ark of the New Covenant is embarking on a 1700 km, 64 day walking pilgrimage through five national shrines. The journey begins March 23 rd, Easter Sunday, in Midland.

All are invited to join in parish celebrations as the Ark makes its way through the Archdiocese’s northern region.

Keep watch on this page for the latest information about routes and events that are open to all.

The walk from St. Margaret’s parish to Martyrs’ Shrine is open to all. If you would like to join in any other part of the walk, please contact the IEC at: arche@cei2008.ca or (418) 688-1211 ext. 259.

Sunday, March 23 – Midland

11 a.m. Mass at St. Margaret’s Parish (589 Hugel Ave) with Bishop Peter Hundt, Auxiliary Bishop, Archdiocese of Toronto & Bishop Pierre-Andr é Fournier, Auxiliary Bishop, Archdiocese of Quebec

1 p.m. Departure towards Martyrs’ Shrine

3 p.m. Blessing and Departure Ceremony at Martyrs’ Shrine with Bishop Hundt, Bishop Fournier & Fr. Alex Kirsten, Director of the Shrine

Monday, March 24 – overnight in Alliston, breaking outside Coldwater

St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 190 King St. S, Alliston
3 p.m. Ark arrives at parish, followed by Divine Mercy
4 p.m. Opportunity to visit and ask questions about the Ark
5 p.m. Evening Prayer
6:30 p.m. Rosary
7 p.m. Mass
8 p.m. Exposition, Praise & Worship
9 p.m. Taizé Prayer
10 p.m. Silent Adoration to 7:30 a.m.

Tuesday, March 25 – Orillia
