Lectio Divina with
His Grace, Archbishop Thomas Collins

Archbishop Thomas Collins for Lectio Divina.

St. Michael's Cathedral.

Vespers are at 7:00 p.m., followed by Lectio Divina from 7:30 p.m. to 8:15 p.m.

This month's scripture passage: Matthew 5:27-42. Please join us for this personal encounter with God through Scripture.

This Sacred reading provides an opportunity to read aloud the Word of God taking time to pause, reflect and pray together. In the coming year, we will encounter Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount, summarizing the foundation of Christian life.

St. Michael's Choir School's 68th Annual Christmas concert “A Christmas Celebration”

St. Michael's Choir School has heralded the Christmas season at Massey Hall since 1939. This year's concert highlights include William Mathias' Salvator Mundi and works by Romantic masters Berlioz, Bruckner and Mendelssohn. Guest artists: The Toronto Philharmonia. Perennial favourites like White Christmas and Carol of the Bells join beloved Christmas carols arranged by popular British composer Karl Jenkins.

Palestrina: High Mass for Christmas Day

The Tallis Choir presents Palestrina: High Mass for Christmas Day.

The Tallis Choir joins forces with organ and brass to recreate a high mass as it might have been celebrated on Christmas Day in early seventeenth century Rome. Along with other selections, the program features two Christmas Day masses, one by Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina – called by his contemporaries “The Prince of Music” – and one by Orlando di Lasso - one of the most prolific, versatile, and universal composers of the late Renaissance.

Toronto Mendelssohn Choir's
Sacred Music for a Sacred Space

The Toronto Mendelssohn Choir remounts the wildly successful Sacred Music for a Sacred Space at St. Paul's Basilica. In this second annual performance, Noel Edison will conduct The Toronto Mendelssohn Choir and the all-male Victoria Scholars in the magnificent, acoustically perfect Basilica on Friday, February 22, 2008, 8:00 p.m. and Sunday, February 24, 2008, 3:00 p.m.

The concerts will feature a NEW selection of grand masterworks to be performed completely a cappella including the unparalleled Vespers (All Night Vigil) by Sergei Rachmaninoff, An Apostrophe to the Heavenly Hosts by Canadian composer Healey Willan. The sparse and angular Missa Brevis by Canadian Ruth Watson Henderson will provide a pleasing contrast to the other works.

Tickets for the Sacred Music for a Sacred Space are $45 (General Admission) and Toronto Mendelssohn Choir Subscription Packages are still available, starting at $95.

Monday, December 31, 2007 - Opening Celebration at 10:30 p.m. Candlelight Mass and illumination of church, followed by hcampagne reception in parish hall.

Saturday January 26, 2008 - Sharing Dinner (potluck) at 6:00 p.m. in parish hall.

Friday, April 4, 2008 - Volunteer Appreciation Evening at 7:00 p.m. Mass followed by wine and cheese party in parish hall.

Sunday, May 25, 2008 - Corpus Christi Procession at 3:00 p.m. (in anticipation of the 49th International Eucharistic Congress in Quebec City, 15-22 June)

Sunday, June 1, 2008 - Marriage Celebration Sunday at 11:00 a.m. Mass with renewal of vows by parishioners and couples married at St. Margaret’s, reception to follow in the parish hall.

Thursday, June 12, 2008 - Celebration for elementary schools at 10:30 a.m. Mass followed by party in the parish hall.

Saturday, October 11, 2008 - Solemnity of the Dedication of St. Margaret’s Parish Church at 11:00 a.m. Mass presided by Most Reverend Thomas Collins, Archbishop of Toronto, followed by reception/luncheon in the parish hall.

Saturday-Sunday, October 11-12, 2008 - Homecoming Weekend. Renewal of baptismal promises at all Masses.

Saturday-Wednesday, October 25-29, 2008 - Parish Mission preached by Rev. Philip Chircop, S.J.

Saturday, November 15, 2008 - Anniversary Banquet at 7:00 p.m. at Brooklea Golf & Country Club.
