40 Days for Life is a focused pro-life campaign that has generated measurable lifesaving results in more than 130 cities where it has been implemented. It has lead to a significant drop in abortions on almost all locations, and in some places such as the State of North Dakota, the closing of all abortion clinics.

Support for Recently Separated or
Divorced Catholics
Catholic Family Services of Toronto is offering a ten-week group program for adult men and women who are dealing with the many struggles involved in the process of separation and divorce. Participants will receive support and guidance as they move through this difficult period of transition.
Topics covered in this group include:
Finding new beginnings amidst so much that is ending
Distinguishing between the natural grieving process and getting emotionally stuck
Coping with loss and finding the support you need
Coping with fear, loneliness, and injured self-esteem
Dealing with anger and shame
Negotiating through the legal process
Protective parenting
Spiritual aspects of separation and divorce
Moving on
The group will run on Thursday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. beginning March 5, 2009 at 1155 Yonge Street (Summerhill Subway Station). $150.00 for 10 week program (subsidies available).

Visiting Choir at St. Michael's Cathedral

The Saint Mary's College Women's Choir, a select 30-voice ensemble, will be on tour March 9-15, travelling to Fort Wayne, Ann Arbor, Detroit, and Toronto. The choir has toured cities in the U.S.A. and Canada every other spring for 25 years.

Training for Friendly Visitors

The Sisters of St. Joseph, Toronto, have developed a training session for their In Good Company ministry. In Good Company volunteers visit marginalized and/or isolated individuals in their homes. The Sisters of St. Joseph would like to open the registration to people who do visiting for their parishes.
This training deals with issues such as listening skills, boundaries, mental health, dealing with the elderly, grief and loss, etc. It will be facilitated by qualified Sisters of St. Joseph.
$20 per person to cover costs. Light refreshments will be served.
