C.L.I.M.B. 2007
Now Open For Participant Registration!
C.L.I.M.B. (Catholic Leadership: Identify. Motivate. Believe) is a leadership program designed by the Office of Catholic Youth (OCY) for young people throughout the Archdiocese of Toronto.
In four sessions held over four months (March - June), young people will have the opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of their own gifts and be encouraged to put those gifts at the service of their parishes, schools, families and communities.
The program is open to young leaders aged 15 - 19 and the total cost is $45.00 per participant. Anyone wishing to be involved should email his or her name, address, phone number, parish and school to John Dawson at: johnd@ocytoronto.org.

“Space, Place and Difference: A New Ethics of Politics at the World Social Forum”

Under the banner “Another World is possible” Dr. Conway will report on the January 2007 Forum in Kenya and will examine the World Social Forum as a specifically cultural process, which is producing a new ethic of politics among social movements.
Dr. Conway is the author of Identity, Place, Knowledge: Social Movements Contesting Globalization (2004). She is currently engaged in a five-year research project on the World Social Forum, focusing on the new democratic imagination emerging around the world in and through the praxis of 'anti-globalization' movements.

Third Cardinal Ambrozic Lecture Series 2007 at the University of St. Michael's College, Toronto: “The Marginally Competent and Mentally Ill: A Social Tragedy”

In this presentation, Dr. Brown will address the problem of how society fails those who are incompetent to care for themselves and may be slowly sliding down a slope toward a state in which they are vulnerable to serious bodily harm. He will explore the question of autonomy and society's obligation to protect those most in need.
