8th Season of Stratford Summer Music
The Choir of St. Mary’s Episcopal Cathedral,
Edinburgh, Scotland
Stratford Summer Music, now in its 8 season,
welcomes the Choir of St. Mary's Episcopal Cathedral, Edinburgh, Scotland, one of the UK's finest cathedral choirs. Prior to leaving for Stratford, the choir will be performing in Toronto on Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at St. Michael’s Cathedral during the Noon Mass. This performance is being organized by Father John Mark Missio, Director of Music at St. Michael’s Choir School.
The primary motivation for their visit this summer to
North America is to celebrate the 30th anniversary of young girls (i.e. trebles) singing beside the young boys in a Scottish cathedral choir - a dramatic step in British choral traditions where the voices have traditionally and exclusively been men and boys.
Please find below information on their Stratford
concerts:
- Thursday, July 31 - 11:15 a.m. Knox Church
