Missionary Oblates
Celebrate 50 Years
The Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate are celebrating the 50th anniversary of Assumption Province and the 110th anniversary of the work of Polish Missionary Oblates in Canada.
On June 15, 2006, Cardinal Ambrozic will celebrate a Mass of Thanksgiving at St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish in Mississauga.
A banquet will follow the Mass at the John Paul II Cultural Centre at 7:00 p.m. Performing at the banquet will be world-famous Polish tenor Marek Torzewski.

| Celebration of Thanksgiving - Beatification of Mother Maria Teresa of Saint Joseph
Foundress of the Carmelite Sisters of the Divine Heart of Jesus. On May 13, 2006, Mother Maria Teresa of Saint Joseph was elevated to the ranks of the Blessed in the Diocese of Roermond, Holland.
On June 18, 2006, at St. Francis of Assisi Parish, in preparation for this joyful event and on the occasion of the Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ, a Solemn Adoration of the Eucharist will be held. 11:30 a.m. - Mass of the Solemnity, followed by Exposition of the Eucharist with personal adoration. 3:00 p.m. - Community Solemn Adoration with reflections on the Eucharist as originally composed by the Blessed Maria Teresa of St. Joseph. A procession in the Church and Solemn Benediction will close the celebrations.
On June 19, 2006, at 7:00 p.m., St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Toronto, and the Carmelite Sisters of the Divine Heart of Jesus will host a celebration to honour the new Blessed Mother Maria Teresa of Saint Joseph. Cardinal Ambrozic will preside.

TCDSB Staff Arts Presents
“Anne of Green Gables”
A cast and crew comprised of current and retired staff of the Toronto Catholic District School Board is proud to present its 27th annual musical. This year's production is the Canadian family classic “Anne of Green Gables”, the story of a freckle-faced, red-haired orphan named Anne Shirley, who arrives at the Bright River Railway Station, full of hope for a new life. This year's production is directed by Mirella Rossi, with musical direction by Anne Bolger.
Performances will be held in the theatre at Cardinal Carter Academy for the Arts, 36 Greenfield Avenue, North York on June 2, 3, 8, 9 and 10 starting at 7:30 p.m. and a matinee performance scheduled for June 4 at 2:00 p.m.

HMWN Radio Maria (Holy Mother World Networks) is holding a John Paul II
Dinner and Fundraising Event on June 29, 2006, the feast day of Sts. Peter and Paul, at Montecassino Place, located at 3710 Chesswood Dr., in Downsview.
The keynote speaker for the event will be Bishop Fred Henry of Calgary. His talk will be on the topic: "The challenge of the laity in today's Canadian Society."

Taxation Changes Affect Giving
In the recent federal budget, the capital gains tax payable on the sale(s) of any publicly listed company has now been eliminated if these shares are donated to a registered charity. Parishioners may wish to donate such shares to their Parish as part of their offertory giving, capital campaigns, maintenance funds, or to other parish needs, and/or to an Archdiocesan charity such as ShareLife, Shepherds' Trust,
St. Augustine's Seminary, etc. and receive an income tax receipt for the full value of the shares at the time of donation.
Parishioners wishing to donate in this manner should advise their Parish and have the Parish contact the Office of Stewardship Development 416-934-3400, ext. 561 who will arrange for the sale of the shares and remit the funds to the Parish and/or Archdiocesan charity accordingly.

Looking for Red Candle Holders
St. Anne's Church in Brampton is in need of red candle holders. These holders are 15-hour red hub nail peg candle holders. These are basically red glass candle holders that are held in place with a short glass peg attached to the bottom of the holder and these are placed in the candelabra and used for First Friday.
