‘The Presence of God In My Life’
Parish Passionist Mission

Sunday, March 21 - Friday, March 26, 2010
All Saints’ Parish, Etobicoke.

The Parish Mission will begin on Sunday, March 21 with a Mission Talk at 7:30 p.m.  and will continue each night from Monday, March 22 to Friday, March 26 with a Mass at 7:30 p.m. followed by the Mission Talk.  The mission will be conducted by Fr. Claudio Piccinini, C.P. and Mrs. Andreina Brann.

Please join us for this special and grace-filled time in our parish. 

The daily themes are:
Sunday - The Presence of God in My Life
Monday - The Presence of Evil in My Life
Tuesday - The Presence of God in Prayer
Wednesday - The Presence of God in the Sacraments
Thursday - The Presence of God in Mary
Friday - The Presence of God in the Passion
and Death of Jesus

The Italian Mission will be offered from Monday, March 29 for 3 nights, ending on Wednesday, March 31.  The mass will begin at 7:30 p.m. followed by the Mission Talk.

Luke's Gospel of the Father and of Jesus

First Saturday of the Month - 9:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m.
All Saints' Parish, Etobicoke.

Every first Saturday of the month, Father Francis Carpinelli will guide us through St. Luke's Gospel. We will learn about what Luke, the Evangelist, really believed about Jesus by the way he presents the motifs and themes of the beliefs of early Christians and by how he presents what Jesus himself believed and taught.

ASHES TO EASTER

The Paulist Center is offering a two evening Lenten retreat. Ted Schmidt is the presenter and facilitator. These evenings will discuss scriptural and theological understandings of Lent. Taizé Prayer

The Cardinal Ambrozic Lecture in Bioethics

Science and Religion in Conversation: Seeking the Common Good, presented by Rev. Rob Allore, S.J.

Rev/ Rob Allore, S.J., is a research scientist at the Samuel Lunenfeld Research Institute at Mt. Sinai Hospital. His research activities are focussed on questions pertaining to the genetic regulation of the development of the nervous system. He teaches in the Human Biology program at the University of Toronto and is active at the Newman Centre. The lecture will discuss the evolution of the teaching and will discuss some challenging cases in an effort to clarify some of these questions

Father Allore is a member of the Jesuits in English Canada. He received a BSc (Biology) from the University of Ottawa and a PhD (Immunology) from the University of Toronto.  He studied philosophy and medical ethics at Loyola University in Chicago. During his theology studies (MDiv, STL) at Regis College he developed a special interest in the role of religious voices in the public dialogue on questions of science and technology.

Cardinal Ambrozic was a founding member of the Canadian Catholic Bioethics Institute.

Theology of the Body for Teens Presentation Workshop

Learn Presentation And Training Techniques - using the Theology of the Body for Teens and Katrina Zeno’s Theology of the Body from Toddlers to Teens as a basis for the training.  Participants will learn presentation techniques such as how to use visual aids in presentations, how to maintain audience attention, and how to conduct a work group.

This two-day session will allow participants the opportunity to practice these skills with other attendees. Held at St. Bernadette’s Church, 21 Bayly Street East,  Ajax on Saturday, March 27 and Saturday, May 29, 2010 from 9:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Cost: $25 which includes material handouts and a cold lunch.
