Parish Looking for a Pastoral Associate

St. Joseph Parish, a large parish located in Mississauga, is currently seeking an individual to fill the position of Pastoral Associate - youth and campus ministry.

The Incumbent will be responsible for the coordination and delivery of a parish based youth ministry programme as well as assisting the pastor in establishing a vibrant youth ministry programme at the University of Toronto – Mississauga.

Vespers are at 7:00 p.m., followed by the Lectio Divina from 7:30 p.m. to 8:15 p.m.

This month's scripture passage: Matthew 7:13-28. Please join us for this personal encounter with God through Scripture.

This Sacred reading provides an opportunity to read aloud the Word of God taking time to pause, reflect and pray together. In the coming year, we will encounter Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount, summarizing the foundation of Christian life.

Includes a full complement of speaker cabinets, two P32 bass cabinets plus an acoustical reverberation unit with two dedicated speakers.

It has factory-installed Midi. With careful voicing, it can be quite pipe-like in sound. It was also designed to accept several ranks of pipes.

This was among the last of the analog organs built by Rodgers and is regarded as among their best. The instrument will require some modest speaker work. The purchaser will be put in touch with a qualified technician.

Project Isiolo – Two Upcoming Events

MaterCare International invites you to join them for two evenings with Bishop Anthony Mukobo, Bishop of Isiolo, Kenya and Dr. Robert Walley, MaterCare International's Founder and Executive Director.

Bishop Mukobo, Bishop of Isiolo, Kenya has gracefully accepted an invitation from MaterCare International to travel to Canada to support Project Isiolo, developed by Dr. Robert Walley and Bishop Luigi Locati in 2005 to help with the growing maternal mortality and morbidity problem in his Diocese. Bishop Mukobo replaced Bishop Locati in 2005 after Locati was murdered. In 2006, Dr. Walley met with Bishop Mukobo who pledged his support for Project Isiolo.

Centenary Anniversary
First Italian Church of Toronto

On November 8, 1908, 100 years ago this year, Archbishop Fergus McEvay gave to the Italian community its first church under the title Our Lady of Mount Carmel.

Some of the highlights of this centenary celebration are as follows:

  • May 19, 2008 - Pilgrimage to Marylake.
  • June 29, 2008 - Pilgrimage to Midland, with Apostolic Nuncio, Luigi Ventura, presiding the Eucharistic Liturgy.
  • July 16, 2008 - Mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
  • October 26, 2008 - Concert of classical music by Coro San Marco at St. David's Church.
  • November 3, 2008 - Memorial Mass for all the deceased priests, nuns, and laypeople of this past centenary at St. Jane Frances Church.
  • November 4, 5, 6, 2008 - Lectures on St. Paul by Rev. Claudio Bottini, O.F.M., professor at “Studio Biblico Francescano”, Jerusalem.
  • November 9, 2008 - Solemn Mass with Archbishop Thomas Collins at Immaculate Conception Church, Woodbridge, followed by a Gala Dinner at La Riviera Banquet Hall.

40th Anniversary of St. Norbert's Church

Miscellaneous Items Available

The Sisters of St. Joseph of Toronto have several items available that would be suitable for a church or chapel.

  • A large contemporary altar in light coloured wood including a marble altar stone measuring 74.25" long x 25.75 " wide and 32" high suitable for a school chapel.
  • A 10 foot Corpus by Artist Donald De Lue. This plaster maquette is crated for safe transport. The original Corpus hangs in Morrow Park Chapel.
  • A framed oil painting of Jesus with crown of thorns painted by Sr. Mary of Lourdes Mahoney, measuring 32" x 37", is also available.
