Theology of the Body

St Jerome's Church in Brampton is hosting a series of presentations on the Theology of the Body. They will be held on Tuesdays - September 16, 23, 30 and October 14 in the social hall from 7:30 p.m. – 9:15 p.m. Based on John Paul II's life-transforming teachings, these informative sessions will help you better understand your faith and God's plan for your life. Questions to be explored include:

- Is there a real purpose to life?
- What exactly is “Love”?
- What is the purpose of the married and
celibate vocations?
- Is it truly possible to be pure of heart?
- Why were we created male and female?

Theology of the Body for Teens

Starting on Thursday Sept. 25, running from
7:00 -9:00 p.m. for 12 weeks (ending on Dec 11) at Holy Redeemer Parish Hall 796 Eyer Dr., in Pickering, teens are invited to study and reflect on the Theology of the Body for Teens, where they will discover God's wondrous plan for their lives. Cost: $10 which covers the student workbook.

Lectio Divina – A Year With St. Paul

This Sacred reading provides an opportunity to read aloud the Word of God taking time to pause, reflect and pray together. In the coming year, we will encounter Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount, summarizing the foundation of Christian life.

Volunteer Opportunity
Choir Sectional Leaders needed

St. Matthew’s Parish is seeking sectional leaders for their English Choir. Leaders needed for soprano, alto, tenor and bass. Candidates should have previous vocal training, experience in choral music and ability to read music. Sectional leaders should be knowledgeable in tone production, breathing technique, and diction. Duties include supporting and instructing vocal sections in good vocal techniques during rehearsals and mass. Knowledge of Italian and/or Portuguese diction is an asset, but not required.

Our English Choir is made up of a dedicated group of volunteers that share a love of music. They have a passion for learning and seek to grow in their musical ability.

Qualified high school students are also encouraged to apply, as this is a wonderful opportunity to be involved in music ministry and to fulfill the mandatory volunteer hours needed to obtain an OSSD.
