Gifts of Securities for our Parish
The May 2006 federal budget completely eliminated the taxation of capital gains on donations of listed securities and mutual funds. As a result, gifts of this nature have become very attractive to parishioners who plan their contributions to the Church on an annual basis. People in our parish and throughout the Archdiocese are able to take advantage of this major tax savings while supporting their Church.
For more information please call the Parish Office, or Paul Nazareth, Manager of Planned Giving and Major Gifts for the Archdiocese 416-934-3400,

| HMWN Radio Maria looking for Parish Support
Toronto Catholic Radio Station, HMWN (Holy Mother World Networks) Radio Maria on Oct. 7, 2007, began its drive to garner support from the Catholic community in order to have its broadcast signal carried by the cable companies.
The CRTC, on March 12, 2007, granted HMWN a broadcast license for a digital English language Catholic radio signal across Canada. The next step is to get the cable companies, (such as Rogers, Shaw, Cogeco, Videotron), to carry our service.
October 7, 2007, the Feast day of the Holy Rosary, HMWN Radio Maria formally launched its campaign in the entire Archdiocese of Toronto. Individuals interested in supporting this campaign can do so by signing specially prepared postcards.
These cards will be available at all parishes. Pastors will receive a separate mailing with a sample postcard and detailed instructions on how to promote our campaign. All this information may also be accessed through our website: www.hmwn.net.
For additional information please contact: Lou Iacobelli at 416-245-0200 or email lou@hmwn.net. |
