Supporting Youth to Embrace Life
October 24, 2009 – 9:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
St. Joan of Arc High School, Barrie.
How can we as parents, teachers, neighbours, and youth understand and support youth before they attempt suicide? How do we deal with the spiritual and emotional anguish surrounding a completed suicide?
You are invited to attend a conference on the Church's teaching on Life and Suicide: “Supporting Youth to Embrace Life.” The Keynote Speaker will be Rev. Frank McDevitt, Pastor of St. Mary's Church, Barrie.
There will be workshops that address diverse interests of conference participants. The cost of $15 includes mid-morning refreshments.

CELEBRATING THE YEAR OF THE PRIEST
ANNUS SACERDOTALIS 2009-2010
The Spirituality of St. John Marie Vianney, the Curé of Ars.
St. Mary Immaculate Parish, Richmond Hill, invites you to a series of monthly recollections marking the Year of the Priest, to be held on the first Saturday of the month. Following the 9:00 a.m. Mass, the recollections which will include a conference, the Divine Office and an opportunity for confession. St. John Vianney who will be declared the universal patron of all priests at the end of this year led a deeply spiritual life which may serve as a model not only for priests but for all the faithful as well. The solid foundation of his spiritual life was the Sacred Liturgy of the Church. Below is a list of the Recollection topics. The Recollections will end at noon with the recitation of the Angelus.
November 7 - Atonement, Reconciliation & Penance.
December 5 - The Sacred Liturgy.
February 6 - Eucharistic Adoration.
March 6 - The Sacrament of Penance.
April 10 - The Liturgy of the Hours.
May 1 - Devotion to Our Lady.
June 5 - The Holy Priesthood & The Sacred Heart. |

Merciful Redeemer Parish, Mississauga - November 7, 2009 - 8:30 p.m.
The troupe last performed at St. Dominic's in October of 2007 and will be performing at high schools in Mississauga and Brampton. No tickets necessary, a free-will offering will be taken up. Please mark these dates on your calendar. Bring your family and extended family, a friend, a neighbour, and help support these young people. If you missed the last performance in 2007, you won't want to miss this one. All monies raised will go towards the completion of Lekol Sen Trinite, a school for the poorer kids in Haiti who otherwise would not have an opportunity to go to school.

St. Felix Centre
St. Felix Centre, in downtown Toronto, serves 100 homeless men and women lunch daily, provides breakfast, packed lunch and after school programs for inner city children, and upholds the spirit of service and love of our founders, the Felician Sisters.
