  • REV. MR. RUSSELL ASCH
    REV. MR. RUSSELL ASCH, 39, was born in Montreal and is the younger of two brothers. His parents, opera singers, brought the two sons up with much music, conversation and travelling. Spending formative years in England, he became an active member of Bevis Marks Sephardic synagogue (when studying Restoration Stone-carving). Baptised in 1997, he began to look towards Religious life and/or Ordination; spending the next five years working in a bookshop. While visiting his mother, he became increasingly familiar with the Toronto Catholic community and entered St. Augustine's Seminary in 2004.
  • REV. MR. PAUL HRYNCZYSZYN
    REV. MR. PAUL HRYNCZYSZYN, 26, was born in Glogow, Poland in 1984. Paul began to feel the call to the priesthood at the age of 15 when he became an active member of the Youth Teams of Our Lady, an international youth lay movement. After completing his OAC year in highschool, and still feeling that the Lord was calling him at his young age, Paul decided to enter St. Philip's Seminary to begin his studies for the Priesthood in 2003. After completing his philosophy degree, Paul entered St. Augustines Seminary in 2005. After all these years in formation, Paul is excited to serve the Diocese of Hamilton as a Priest.
  • REV. MR. JAN MICHAEL KUSYK
    REV. MR. JAN MICHAEL KUSYK, 28, was born in Bamberg, Germany to Polish parents. Growing up in London, Ontario, he first felt the call to the priesthood at 13. In 2002, one year after High School, Jan entered St. Peter's Seminary in London. The following year his family moved to Kingston and, while continuing to study in London, he became a seminarian for the Archdiocese of Kingston. After an extra year of discernment in 2008, he entered St. Augustine's Seminary in the Fall of 2009 to complete his studies. Jan is looking forward to becoming a priest for the Archdiocese of Kingston.
  • MR. ANDREW MACDONALD
    MR. ANDREW MACDONALD, 31, is the second youngest in a family of 9 was raised in Orwell Cove, Prince Edward Island. Andrew studied Engineering at UPEI before beginning his studies at St. Philip's Seminary in 2001 and entering St. Augustine's Seminary in 2003. Andrew felt he needed further discernment outside of the seminary so he completed his Master in Divinity in 2007 and entered OISE in 2008. While teaching Social Studies at Holy Trinity Academy in Okotoks, Alberta he felt called to return to formation. Andrew is studying for the Diocese of Charlottetown and is looking forward to being present to the people of PEI.
  • REV. MR. ERIC MAH
    REV. MR. ERIC MAH, 34, was born in Vancouver. Attended the University of British Columbia where he obtained a B.A. (English Literature) in 1999. Graduated from Dalhousie University with a law degree in 2002. Moved to Toronto and was called to the bar in 2003. Practiced insurance law on a full-time basis before entering St. Augustine's Seminary in 2005. Pastoral internship was completed at Blessed Trinity Parish under Msgr. Ambrose Sheehy. Studying to be a priest for the Archdiocese of Toronto.
  • REV. MR. ANTE MARKET
    REV. MR. ANTE MARKET, 28, was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario. His parents both emigrated from Croatia and he has an older brother named Josip and a younger sister named Marijana Valentina. Deacon Ante attended various schools in Toronto including: Saint James Catholic Elementary School, Chaminade College School, York University, Saint Philip's Seminary and Saint Augustine's Seminary. He is also an active member of the Knights of Columbus Kingsway Council #3387. God Willing, Deacon Ante will be ordained a Roman Catholic Priest for the Diocese of Peterborough this Spring.
  • REV. MR. BRADLEY MARKUS
    REV. MR. BRADLEY MARKUS, 26, was born and raised in Kitchener. Because of the death of his father at an early age Deacon Markus' life, family, and faith were particularly marked. Coming back to the practice of the faith at 17 he began discerning the depth of God's call and action in his life. Entering St. Philip's Seminary in 2004 Deacon Markus studied Philosophy and in 2006 he entered St. Augustine's Seminary for theological studies. His vocation to the priesthood has brought light to much struggle, as well as joy and peace through entrance into the mystery of God's presence in our lives. Deacon Markus looks forward to serving the people of Hamilton Diocese.
  • REV. MR. ALLYN ROSE
    REV. MR. ALLYN ROSE, 34, was born and raised in Orangeville, ON. He is the middle child of three. He studied accounting at Sheridan College and then at the University of Windsor. Allyn began volunteering in various capacities, including youth ministry, at his home parish of St. Timothy's in Orangeville, Ontario. It was then that he began to realize that he found more fulfillment in his voluntary ministry than he did working full-time and decided to answer the call to priesthood that he had been denying for years. Allyn worked in an accounting office for two years before leaving to enter the seminary in 2005.
  • REV. MR. HEZUK SHROFF
    REV. MR. HEZUK SHROFF, 40, was born in Calcutta, India in 1971. He was raised in the Zoroastrian religion, but converted to the Catholic Faith in 1995 while he was working on a Master's degree in Biochemistry at McGill University. Ever since his conversion, Hezuk felt called to serve Christ in a particular way. After some years of exploring a vocation in religious and monastic life, he began to feel strongly that Christ was calling him to serve the Church as a diocesan priest. He entered St. Augustine's Seminary in September 2006, and will be ordained to the priesthood on May 13, 2011 at Notre-Dame Cathedral in Ottawa.
  • REV. MR. NATHAN ANDREW SIRAY
    REV. MR. NATHAN ANDREW SIRAY, 27, was born in Calgary, Alberta, the eldest of 4 boys. He grew up in the shadows of the Rocky Mountains in Millarville, Alberta or as he affectionately refers to it as “The Shire”. He did not consider a vocation to the priesthood while a child or teen, but when attending university at McGill in 2002 experienced the call to the diocesan priesthood. He studied philosophy at Mt. Angel Seminary in St. Benedict, Oregon from 2003-2006 and theology at St. Augustine's Seminary from 2006-2011. He looks forward to serving as a priest in the Diocese of Calgary.
