Entrance Antiphon I know whom I have believed. I am sure that he, the just judge, will guard my pledge until the day of judgment. (2 Tim. 1:12; 4:8)
OPENING PRAYER
Lord God,
you appointed Paul your apostle
to preach the good news of salvation.
Fill the entire world with the faith
he carried to so many peoples and nations,
that your Church may continue to grow.
Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever.
PRAYER OVER THE GIFTS
Lord,
as we celebrate this holy eucharist
may your Spirit fill us with the light
which led Paul the apostle
to make your glory known.
Grant this in the name of Jesus the Lord.
PREFACE I
(This preface is said in Masses of the Apostles)
The Lord be with you.
And also with you.
Lift up your hearts.
We lift them up to the Lord.
Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
It is right to give him thanks and praise.
Father, all-powerful and ever-living God,
we do well always and everywhere to give you thanks.
You are the eternal shepherd
who never leaves his flock untended.
Through the apostles
you watch over us and protect us always.
You made them shepherds of the flock
to share in the work of your Son,
and from their place in heaven they guide us still.
And so, with all the choirs of angels in heaven
we proclaim your glory
and join in their unending hymn of praise:
Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might,
heaven and earth are full of your glory.
Hosanna in the highest.
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
Hosanna in the Highest.
PREFACE II
(This preface is said in Masses of the Apostles and evangelists)
The Lord be with you.
And also with you.
Lift up your hearts.
We lift them up to the Lord.
Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
It is right to give him thanks and praise.
Father, all-powerful and ever-living God,
we do well always and everywhere to give you thanks.
You founded your Church on the apostles
to stand firm for ever
as the sign on earth of your infinite holiness
and as the living gospel for all men to hear.
With steadfast love
we sing you unending praise;
we join with the hosts of heaven
in their triumphant song:
Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might,
heaven and earth are full of your glory.
Hosanna in the highest.
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
Hosanna in the highest.
Communion Antiphon I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and sacrificed himself for me (Gal. 2:20)
PRAYER AFTER COMMUNION
Lord,
you renew us with the communion
of the body and blood of your Son.
May Christ be our life,
and may nothing separate us from his love.
Following the teachings of St. Paul,
may we live in love for our brothers and sisters.
We ask this through Christ our Lord. |
