Webinar: COVID-19 and the Syrian Refugee Crisis
Before the COVID-19 pandemic, millions of people in the Global South fled war, poverty and violence to seek relative safety in refugee camps. Now these refugees are highly vulnerable to COVID-19 because of these crowded camps with limited services.

On Tuesday, May 5, 2020, from 1-2 p.m., Fr. Nawras Sammour, the regional director of the Jesuit Refugee Service for the Middle East and North Africa, will discuss how COVID-19 is affecting the more than 12 million displaced people in Syria and neighbouring countries.

Fr. Nawras will explain why he remains hopeful in these daunting times.

If you want to join this webinar, hosted by that Canadian Jesuits International, please register here.

Fr. Nawras’ talk will be recorded and on Wednesday a copy will be emailed to those who register.
