The Sacred Objects Exchange (SOX) was launched in March 2014 and is coordinated by the Archives.
SOX receives donations of ecclesiastical items that have fallen into disuse or disrepair in order to make them available to parishes and Catholic organizations in need. SOX ensures that the Archdiocese of Toronto is fulfilling its responsibility to protect and preserve its sacred patrimony for use in evangelization. The program has three goals:
To provide a means by which parishes and religious communities may obtain needed ecclesiastical items such as chalices, ciboria, vestments, candle stands and statues
To provide a repository for parishes to donate ecclesiastical items so that they may be properly preserved and made available to other parishes in need within the Archdiocese;
To provide access to a restoration service so that those objects desired may be received in the best possible condition.
Recipient parishes/organizations must agree to the following Conditions of Permanent Loan:
