The spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me; he has sent me to bring good news to the oppressed, to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and release to the prisoners.- Isaiah 61:1
God invites each one of us to love all those whom we meet. In a special way, we are asked to be the presence of Christ to the poor and marginalized, both personally and together as church. As an archdiocese, we carry out our apostolic mission through many forms of witness and service. We bring this practical love to life in
lay associations of the faithful,
pastoral services we offer through the archdiocese,
ecumenical initiatives, and
social agencies we collaborate with by providing financial support. The archdiocese will continue its long tradition of supporting pastoral initiatives of justice and love.
The Archdiocese of Toronto and the Catholic organizations listed in this section are actively engaged in creating a just and equitable society. Collectively, they touch the lives of countless numbers of people in our region and around the world.
