ShareLife is the official annual charitable appeal of the Archdiocese of Toronto, raising funds to help support a large family of Catholic Agencies. Annually, ShareLife social service agencies provide over 381,000 services to over 114,000 people locally and assist countless more in developing countries around the world. They feed the hungry, shelter the homeless, protect the meek and care for the sick. In 42 municipalities, in 225 parishes, and in more than 20 languages, those in need received professional, faith-informed and compassionate care as a result of our generosity.
ShareLife is a sign of our stewardship, and an opportunity to share the gifts of time, talent and treasure that have been entrusted to us by God. ShareLife also provides an opportunity to exercise the Lenten tradition of almsgiving. Those who volunteer and work actively for ShareLife are in fact serving in the ministry of fundraising.
"As generous distributors of God's manifold grace, put your gifts at the service of one another each in the measure he has received." (1 Peter 4:10)
ShareLife is the Catholic community’s response to providing care and outreach to those in need through our social services agencies and grant recipients, by raising and allocating funds effectively, and fulfilling our obligations to respect life at all stages.
Every parish, school and business in the Archdiocese of Toronto is participating fully in ShareLife every year.
We are committed to:
Reverence for life at all stages;
Love of neighbour expressed through joyful, selfless giving of our gifts of time, talent and treasure;
Participation of a broad base of volunteers and donors;
Quality and excellence in what we do and how we do it;
Integrity in all our actions;
Providing a good working environment for staff and volunteers.
In short, living the Gospel by putting our Catholic faith into action!
