We want to appreciate the beautiful people whom we find in the Lucan narrative of Jesus birth – people steeped in the faith of their ancestors and deeply devoted to the worship of God in the Temple of Jerusalem. We want to identify with the faith and piety of Elizabeth and Zechariah, Mary and Joseph, the shepherds, Simeon and Anna, to share their spirit and to recall the people in our lives as we grew up who shared their spirit and wanted to share that spirit with us.
