Since our founding as a parish in 1928 as St. John the Baptist to our move to Mississauga with a new name in honour of the Lithuanian Martyrs, our parishioners have always demonstrated remarkable resolve, dedication and a spirit of giving. We are proud of our beautiful church and want to ensure that it is a welcoming, friendly and accessible place for all who worship and visit here.
We need to care for our family of faith and our church and parish hall. In the past few years we have replaced the heating and cooling systems in our church and hall, and replaced the church roof. We also installed an elevator, a ramp and an automated door mechanism to assist elderly parishioners in our community.
With your support of the Family of Faith campaign we plan to make many more important improvements.
We will construct a separate wheelchair accessible washroom in our parish hall, since our current hall washrooms cannot be structurally adapted for wheelchair access.
We will replace the carpet in the church and on the stairs. The current carpet is from 1978 and is faded, stained and threadbare in places.
We will replace the sanctuary skylight which is cracked and currently needs to be resealed every six months.
We look forward to this next exciting phase of our parish and archdiocese, remembering that we are family - brothers and sisters in Christ!
