Marriage Sunday in the Archdiocese of Toronto
Letter from Cardinal Thomas Collins for Marriage Sunday 2018

February 11, 2018

To Married Couples throughout the Archdiocese of Toronto,

On the occasion of Marriage Sunday in the Archdiocese of Toronto, I wish to affirm and thank all married couples who, by the witness of their daily lives, mirror the love of Christ for others and inspire our faith community. May your ongoing efforts to enrich your marriage be strengthened by God's grace so that you may continue to be beacons of hope in the world.

We also pray and extend loving support to those who have lost a spouse or are struggling from a broken relationship. You are in our prayers and I encourage those who are hurting to seek out programs, services, resources and pastoral care in your own parish or throughout our diocese so that we may journey with you through the healing process.

I also wish to thank those animating marriage preparation courses and for those engaged in marriage enrichment programs or movements to support the sacrament of matrimony. Your ministry is essential in nurturing married couples and families to become who they are called to be, vessels through which we have the opportunity to evangelize the world.

I encourage you to visit or speak with your own parish for information and resources that can assist you on your journey together.

Once again, as we celebrate Marriage Sunday, thank you for your incredible witness and fidelity. May God continue to bless you now and always!

Sincerely in Christ,

Thomas Cardinal Collins
Archbishop of Toronto
