Catholic Charities Announces Expanded $700,000 Community Grants Program for 2026

Posted : Jul-17-2026

Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Toronto (CCAT) has officially expanded its Community Grants Program for 2026 to create new opportunities for organizations addressing urgent social needs. Thanks to a generous legacy gift, CCAT is now able to distribute $700,000 in funding to support impactful projects across the Archdiocese. This initiative reflects CCAT’s core commitment to prioritizing human dignity, social justice, and community well-being. CCAT is dedicated to partnering with organizations that share its mission of walking with those on the margins. By expanding this program, CCAT hopes to foster deeper connections and more effective service delivery for those who need it most.

CCAT is inviting applications from registered charities, non-profits, and sponsored* community-based groups whose work supports the most vulnerable populations in their communities. Its funding priorities are broad and inclusive, ranging from 1) food security, 2) housing and homelessness, 3) mental health and wellbeing, 4) migrants and refugees, 5) palliative care, 6) people with disabilities, and 7) seniors. This financial support is intended to foster both new and ongoing initiatives that demonstrate measurable community impact. Grants are available in amounts ranging from $5,000 to $50,000 to ensure CCAT can support a diverse network of organizations. CCAT believes that by investing in these local efforts, it can help build stronger, more resilient communities across the entire Archdiocese.

CCAT strongly encourages all eligible organizations serving residents in Toronto, Peel, York, Durham, and Simcoe County to review its specific funding priorities before applying. To ensure each organization is prepared, applicants should carefully read through all eligibility requirements listed on CCAT’s official website. Submissions for the Summer Cycle are due by Friday, August 21, 2026, while the Fall Cycle deadline is Friday, October 23, 2026. Applicants are encouraged to submit their applications well in advance of these dates to ensure all documentation is complete and accurate.
