Event FAQs

Who is hosting this event?
This event is being hosted by the Office of Formation for Discipleship at the Archdiocese of Toronto.


Who can attend this conference?

Everyone involved in parish ministry: clergy, parish ministry leaders, coordinators, and volunteers including those serving in the areas of bereavement, catechesis and sacramental preparation, family life, liturgy, maturing adults, ministry to the sick and homebound, and parish vitality and stewardship.


Will the conference be in person or virtual?
The conference will be hybrid; in-person and virtual. Thursday, October 20 and Friday, October 21 will be online through the Whova conference app.

All sessions on Saturday, October 22 will be hybrid; in-person at the Hilton Mississauga/Meadowvale, 6750 Mississauga Rd, Mississauga, ON L5N 2L3 (see map) and online through Whova. We hope you will consider joining us in person on the Saturday!

Our keynote speaker will be joining us live from Green Bay, WI, USA. Cardinal Collins and the auxiliary bishops will be joining us in person at the hotel.


Is the event accessible via TTC?

Yes. The event is accessible via TTC. Please visit the TTC Trip Planner for details on how to get there.


Is parking available at the venue?

Free parking is available at the venue. Please consider carpooling.


Is the event accessible?
Yes. All the event spaces are accessible, including washrooms.


Can I bring my baby?

You are welcome to bring your baby with you. However, please note that there will be no childcare services provided. Please ensure that you have what you need to care for your baby throughout the day.


Will Mass be celebrated at the event?

Yes. Mass will be celebrated at 8:15 a.m. at the Hilton Mississauga/Meadowvale. Mass will be livestreamed as well.


I am a priest. Can I concelebrate the Mass?

Yes. If you wish to concelebrate please bring your own alb and stole. Please indicate this on the registration form.


Will low gluten communion hosts be available at the Mass?
Yes, please notify us by October 16 via email at formation@archtoronto.org so we can make the necessary arrangements.


How will I be able to access the conference on Whova?
Instructions to join the Whova app will be emailed to registered participants closer to the dates of the conference.


Will I be able to interact and network with other participants virtually?
Yes! The Whova conference platform allows all participants to set up a user profile and interact with others, both online and in person on the Whova app.


Will I have access to all the live virtual sessions?

Yes, you will have access to all sessions and the Live Exhibitor Showcase through the Whova app.


Will all of the sessions be recorded?
Yes, all sessions will be recorded and made available to participants for a limited time after the conference.

You will be asked to consent to a media waiver prior to the conference. If you are participating virtually and do not consent, we ask that you deactivate your camera and microphone prior to the session. Those attending in person will be given a token recognizable by our photographer and videographer to indicate that you do not wish to be photographed or recorded by video.

 


Registration FAQs

What is included in the registration fee?
The registration fee includes access to all sessions, sponsor and pastoral exhibitor booths, the Exhibitor Live Showcase, and networking opportunities. Access is both online and in person. Continental breakfast, a buffet lunch and refreshments will be offered to those participating in person only.


How can individuals with special needs register and participate in the conference?

Any accessibility or dietary requests should be directed to Enza Rattenni or Annalisa Parente by October 16 at formation@archtoronto.org or 416-934-3400, ext. 523. Every effort will be made to assist you with registration and participation.


When does registration close?

Registration closes Sunday, October 16 at 11:59 p.m.


What information do I need to register?

We will need your name, phone number, personal email address, parish name and city, and role at the parish for each participant. This also applies to everyone in your group if you are more than one person.

If you have any dietary restrictions or require special accommodations, please let us know.

We will be recording every session (virtual and in-person.) A photographer and videographer will be taking photographs and footage of attendees at the conference event space. Every registrant is able to opt-out of being photographed or recorded. Please ensure that you know the option of everyone you are registering. If you are not able to obtain this information, please note that the person can change their choice by emailing Enza Rattenni at erattenni@archtoronto.org directly by October 16. Unless notified by email, the info provided upon registration will be considered as the choice made.


Can I register my household or a group from my parish?

Yes. Please ensure you have the personal information of each person in the group at the time of registration (see question above). You will need only one credit card for payment of the total number of registrations.

 


Payment FAQs

How much does it cost to attend the conference?
The Early Bird price is $25 per person to attend virtually on Thursday, October 20 and Friday, October 21, and in person on Saturday, October 22. After September 30 the price is $35 per person.

The cost is $25 per person for those who wish to attend the entire conference virtually.


Can I pay by cheque or money order?

We encourage you to pay by credit card or bank card with Visa and MasterCard Debit. Please contact the Office of Formation for Discipleship at 416-934-3400 ext. 523 if you must make other arrangements.

We do not accept money orders or cash.


Can I register and pay on the day of the event?
No. Please register by Sunday, October 16.


I can no longer attend the event. Can I get a refund?
Yes. Refunds are available for virtual-only participants until Wednesday, October 19 at 5 p.m.

Due to venue requirements, refund requests will be accepted by Friday, October 14 at 5 p.m. for in-person registrants.


Can I give my ticket to another person?
No. Transferring tickets to another person is not available due to the profile setup in the Whova conference platform. Please send a formal request for a refund to Enza Rattenni by email at erattenni@archtoronto.org. Please include your name, parish, and transaction reference number.
