Stewardship Sunday

Cardinal Thomas Collins has announced the institution of Stewardship Sunday as an annual occurrence across the entire Archdiocese on the 25th Sunday of Ordinary Time. As such, Stewardship Sunday will be on September 19, 2021.

The Cardinal has prepared a homily for Stewardship Sunday 2021 and asks that parishes share it at all Masses that weekend. The homily comes in either video or written format, including translations below.

As gratitude is an important part of stewardship, a separate video has also been created to thank all the people who gave their time and talents to help get our parishes reopened. It includes a personal thank you from the Cardinal along with an invitation for other people to become more deeply engaged in parish life.

Due to our current state of reduced Mass attendance, parishes are encouraged to share the videos with their parishioners using the various electronic forms available to them, such as on a website, through email, Facebook, etc.
