Overview

One of the first steps in pursuing a voluteer opportunity is to apply for the position by completing an application form and submitting it to your parish. The completed Volunteer Application Form (VAF) is kept on file with your parish to ensure that they have a record of your service, and other relevant details, such as, emergency contact information.

The application forms for positions of trust / high risk ministries include details of mandatory screening steps, such as interviews, reference checks, and criminal records and judicial matters checks that are repeated every 5 years (annual offence declaration signed every year in-between police checks).
