MANDATE AND AIMS:
To promote a common missionary vision in the Church and among all baptized persons called to participate in the One Mission according to their individual capacities.
To promote a greater awareness of the four Pontifical Mission Societies, with the director as liaison officer with other diocesan directors and the National Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies.
To promote and foster a universal missionary spirit in the hearts of all people within the archdiocese.
VISION:
Coordinate, at the local level, mission efforts and facilitate cooperation between existing offices of the archdiocese and outside stakeholders within the archdiocese, to establish a framework within which the Church’s missionary dimension can be realized.
Create and use educational tools to promote the ongoing missionary efforts of the Universal Church and the archdiocese.
Raise awareness of the current and ongoing conditions faced by sister Churches throughout the world.
Take advantage of opportunities to highlight the importance of the missionary dimension of every Christian vocation.
Promote the importance of Mission Sunday as an expression of the richness and diversity present in the Universal Church, in the archdiocese and parishes within the archdiocese.
To encourage praying for, promotion of and support for missionary activities and vocations within the archdiocese and beyond.
Educate individuals and parishes in respect to the needs of the universal mission of the Church, with a deeper understanding of the work of the Pontifical Mission Societies.
Make available documents concerning the missionary dimension of the Church.
