Liturgical Ministry Events

Music Minister Formation Webinar

Wednesday, June 23, 2021, from 7:00 P.M. to 8:30 P.M.

This event is for all Music Ministers.

Necessary or Integral? The Role of Music at Weddings and Funerals

When planning music for weddings and funerals we often give most of our attention in planning to the hymns. While they have an important role to play in the liturgy, they are not the only opportunities for music in these liturgies.
This webinar will provide an opportunity to look more deeply at the Order of Celebrating Matrimony and the Order of Christian Funerals and the opportunities they have for music. It will explore topics such as
• The liturgical role of music in these liturgies
• How to encourage participation in musical aspects of the liturgy
• Practical considerations for including music in these liturgies in light of the COVID-19 restrictions

All Music Ministers are invited to join us to explore these and other questions related to other opportunities for music in these two liturgies.

This event is for those who are Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion.

The Eucharistic liturgy is a place of encountering the living God. All Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion are invited to join us for this webinar as we explore ways to renew our wonder in the Eucharistic liturgy. We will
-Look at elements of the liturgy that invite wonder and awe
- Explore our responses to those moments in the liturgy
- Discuss ways to share that wonder and awe with the world in order to help transform it
