About the Subsidy

The Archdiocesan Pastoral Plan of 2013 promotes the deployment of Lay Pastoral Associates in our parishes to assist Pastors and Parishioners in achieving the objectives listed in the Pastoral Plan. The 2017 document A Vision for Lay Pastoral Ministry in the Archdiocese of Toronto describes the roles and accountabilities of Lay Pastoral Associates.

The Office of Formation for Discipleship has received funds from the Archdiocesan Family of Faith Campaign to provide subsidies to parishes wanting to employ Lay Pastoral Associates. We have the capacity to fund several positions, depending on the ratio of funding, which can vary from 25% - 100%, depending on the parish's financial need.

The Family of Faith Lay Pastoral Associate Subsidy Program is funded through the generous support of donors to the Family of Faith Campaign.
