AN ONLINE EVENT RECOMMENDED BY THE OFFICE FOR ECUMENICAL AND INTERFAITH RELATIONS

Join the WCC Faith and Science Working Group for the first in a series of sessions exploring artificial intelligence’s (AI) impact on digital communication! Geared to faith leaders and communicators, NGO coordinators and advocacy professionals, theologians and academics, those interested in ethical technology use, and members of ecumenical and interfaith communities, this timely discussion examines both opportunities and challenges, such as:
• The Good: democratizing technology, enhancing accessibility, expanding outreach, and boosting creativity
• The Bad: targeting individuals with abuse, creating deepfakes, spreading disinformation; and,
• The Ugly: contributing to polarized political discourse and perpetuating bias
Specific attention will be given to how we use AI applications effectively in our ministries and advocacy work and when faith communities need to be cautious about AI adoption.
