Dr. Elana Stein Hain is the director of faculty and a senior fellow at the Shalom Hartman Institute of North America, a leading centre of Jewish thought and education. In her upcoming talk, “The Relationship between Fundamentalism and Uncertainty,” she will bring Jewish perspectives into the conversation with contemporary life and democracy. Dr. Stein Hain will examine the rabbinic innovation of recognizing and embracing uncertainty in life, rather than ignoring it or hoping it would simply go away. She will also provide tools for navigating an ever-changing world.
