The calamities around the world are due to environmental disasters and all faith communities are concerned and actively advocating to save our common home. Keeping in mind the importance of creation, the Christians around the world are actively preparing to celebrate the Season of Creation, from September 1, the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation, to October 4, the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron Saint of Ecology. The proposed theme for this year is “Listening to the Voice of Creation” which is symbolised by the “Burning Bush”. It is chosen by an ecumenical steering committee and inspiration is taken from Psalm 19:1-4. (Video). The Office for Interreligious Dialogue at the Archdiocese of Toronto invites members of different faith communities to celebrate the Season of Creation with us in-person through prayer and action.
