Martin Buber was a Jewish philosopher best known for his philosophy of dialogue. He is one of the most influential thinkers of the 20th century. This free course will explore his understanding of dialogue as expressed in his writings, ranging from comparative mysticism to biblical commentary, existentialism to poetry, philosophy to cultural Zionism and psychology to diplomacy. He was one of the pioneer bridge builders between Judaism and Christianity. Prof. Benjamin Sax is a Jewish scholar and he will discuss some of the key principles of philosophy of dialogue developed by Martin Buber. It will certainly promote the education and formation Catholics need to understand Judaism.
