A VIRTUAL EVENT RECOMMENDED BY THE OFFICE FOR PROMOTING CHRISTIAN UNITY AND RELIGIOUS RELATIONS WITH JUDAISM

In this lecture, Dr. David Arnow, a writer, clinical psychologist, and activist in the Jewish community will delve into the depths of the reservoir of hope from Biblical times to the present day. Grounded in Scripture and contemporary theology, Dr. Arnow will explore the fundamental sources of hope which have helped the Jewish people stay strong and optimistic through the challenges of life. These sources include:  Teshuvah (a method to fulfill hope),  Tikkun olam (the hope that we can repair the world by working together), Abraham and Sarah (models persisting in hope amid trials), Exodus (an archetype of redemptive hope), Covenant (the hope for a durable relationship with God), Job (the “hard-fought hope” that brings a grief-stricken man back to life), the World-to-Come (the sustaining hope that death is not the end), as well as Humour. Plan to attend this fascinating presentation drawing from our common heritage of a virtue that is very much in need today.
