On Nov. 24, the Our Lady Queen of the World Catholic Academy community in Richmond Hill, Ont., and the York Catholic District School Board welcomed His Eminence Frank Cardinal Leo to the Our Lady Queen of the World Parish for an uplifting school Mass, followed by a luncheon in his honour at the school.
In his inspiring homily, Cardinal Leo spoke to students about the importance of saying “yes” to God and remaining open to His plan. He reminded all present not to be afraid, for when we root ourselves in faith and surround ourselves with supportive family and friends, we can face any challenge with courage and hope.
Following the Mass, Cardinal Leo met with student members of the Catholic Leadership Council, taking time to answer their questions about his vocation, his call to the priesthood and his experience serving as Cardinal. His humility and genuine interest in their questions left a profound impact on the students, many of whom expressed how touched they were by his kindness and willingness to share about his journey so openly.
In every aspect of the celebration, the community came together in a spirit of unity and joy, living out the school motto, Choose Love Always, and beautifully reflecting Cardinal Leo’s message of faith, openness and trust in God’s plan.
